This is What Happens when GOP Policies Prevail

People waiting in line for dental services

The United States of America is one of the richest countries this world has ever known. Yet, every day millions of people across this country suffer because the GOP fights against policies that would help the working poor in the areas that really matter.

This article shares the stories of the people who are forced to wait in line for hours to get necessary dental care. Many of these people work full time but they are forced to rely on the benevolence of strangers to fix the broken molar or infection that causes them constant pain. The article reports that dental problems drove more than 2 million people to emergency rooms in one year – with no insurance and little money they had no other choice – but ER doctors can do little but medicate them for pain, feeding the opioid crisis in this country. Some voted for Trump, hoping that he would keep his promises and actually fight for them. But the GOP is not fighting for the people whose stories are told in this article. The policies the GOP has embraced for decades have made this divide worse. The policies Tom McClintock embraces make this divide worse. For McClintock, every American is on her own, and the government has no responsibility to ensure that people have access to necessary medical or dental care.

Tom McClintock has spent his career working for corporate donors, not constituents. McClintock is selling us out, one vote at a time. This is one of the many reasons we oppose Tom McClintock. California’s Fourth District, and this country, deserve better.
