The very notion of a free and independent press is under attack globally and nationally. Donald Trump’s attack line that the news media is “the enemy of the people” has taken hold in our region, and with frightening consequences.
To discuss this topic, and the stake we all have in its outcome, Sierra Forward is pleased to be presenting Ms. Doni Chamberlain, publisher/editor of a news café.com, in a Town Hall set for 7:00pm PDT on Thursday, August 17, 2023. Ms. Chamberlain has been chronicling the activities and influence of alt right extremists in Shasta County, and she has been doing so in spite of death threats and a recent physical attack.
Doni has an important story to tell, and Sierra Forward is honored to be providing a platform from which to tell it.
