A resident of Roseville, Suzanne Eckes-Wahl serves as Communications Director for Sierra Forward. A Sacramento native, Suzanne began working in media, public relations and concert promotion at her father’s knee: watching him entertain crowds during Robert Kennedy’s visit to Sacramento in 1968 is one of her earliest memories. Admittedly, that concluded her political activism until Tuesday, November 8th, 2016.
While attending the University of Hawai’i, Suzanne’s comfort with media and high-profile individuals led to a position with concert promoter Tom Moffatt. Juggling travel arrangements, contracts, and media appearances for international celebrities garnered Suzanne valuable experience working in high-pressure, constantly shifting environments.
After working and living in the Western Pacific, Suzanne returned to Northern California, where she and husband Jim established careers in media production. Moving from local news and production companies to international broadcast and documentary film, in 2005 Suzanne and Jim formed DosEckes Productions, where Suzanne oversees production and pre-production. Clients range from HOUZZ, PBS and HGTV to Stanford University and the National Naval Aviation Museum, however DEP’s true passion is historic or culturally important topics — creating media that matters.
Suzanne attended the University of Hawai’i and CSU Sacramento, obtaining a BA degree in Philosophy and an MA in History/Public History. She and Jim have 2 grown sons, and Suzanne is a founding member of the CD4 Indivisible Network. She looks forward to working with Sierra Forward as they bring more reflective representation to CA CD4.
