Bobby Michaels began his career in community and political activism as a Summer Fellow with Organizing For America Florida in June 2011. He continued as both a fall and spring Fellow, and in March 2012, was among the first Field Organizers hired in the state of Florida to help re-elect President Obama. After OFA, he worked with Enroll America for two and a half years as Deputy Regional Field Director, working in communities across North and Central Florida, partnering with over 57 public and private organizations, executing enrollment events to insure Floridians under the Affordable Care Act. In 2016, he worked in Miami with the Florida Democratic Party, followed by For Our Future, as Regional Field Director, to hire and train Field Organizers to help educate and empower voters and volunteers about the importance of the 2016 elections and the impact their involvement would have. He started 2017 by working with Equality Florida, the state’s leading LGBTQ rights organization, with a canvassing program to gain support for a statewide bill that would protect the LGBTQ community in Florida in the areas of employment, housing, and public accommodations.
A born and raised Jersey Boy at heart, Bobby has lived and worked all over the state of Florida.
