Sierra Forward Endorses Margaret Fortune for Board of Supervisors
In El Dorado County, District 1: Margaret Fortune is a proven civic leader and a force for change in California education circles.
As CEO of Fortune School, a network of public charter schools that she founded, she has helped thousands of young people in the Sacramento area, and in Southern California, reach and exceed their learning potential.
As Chair of the state’s teacher licensure board, she pushed for higher and enforceable standards; she served as principal educational advisor to two Governors—one a Democrat and one a Republican. As a resident of El Dorado Hills, Margaret has already left her mark on a variety of community projects and initiatives, including wildfire prevention and rebuilding after the Caldor Fire in her role as an elected member of the El Dorado Resource Conservation District Board.
Margaret Fortune will be a dynamite member of the EDC Board of Supervisors, and we urge her election in District One!
