Lies, Lies, and More Lies

If their proposals were good policy — if they offered solutions that our country needs — the GOP would have no reason to lie. We know their arguments are empty and that no good reason supports them because they are forced to lie to try to justify them.

Tom McClintock — like the President he blindly supports — has fully embraced the lying and scapegoating that is the hallmark of today’s GOP. And nowhere do we see this more clearly than the lies that Trump and his supporters spout about undocumented immigrants in this country. Last week, in voicing his support for a wall that would cost billions and do much more harm than good, McClintock made a false claim about murders by undocumented immigrants. As Politifact explains, the source he invokes doesn’t support this ridiculous claim. In fact, studies have shown that immigrants commit crimes at much lower rates than people born in the U.S. If the facts supported their policies, they wouldn’t need to lie. If crime by undocumented immigrants were a problem, they wouldn’t need to make up facts. They lie and scapegoat because they have nothing else.

In November 2020, we’ll have another chance to send Tom McClintock into retirement at his home in Elk Grove (which is not in the 4th CD!), and instead elect someone who will honestly address the problems we face in this country, and this District. McClintock continues to sell us out, one vote at a time. This is one of the many reasons we oppose Tom McClintock. The people of California’s Fourth District, and this country, deserve better.
